Shannon McKinney is a lighting and scenic designer and teacher

with over twenty-five years of professional experience.   She is

based in Denver where her recent credits include designs at the

Colorado Shakespeare Festival, The Denver Center Theatre Co,

The Arvada Center, and Curious Theatre where she is a long-time

Company Member.  Regional credits include Steppenwolf Theatre,

Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre and The Alliance Theatre.  Shannon is an adjunct faculty member at Metropolitan State University and she has taught and guest designed at The University of Denver since 1999.  Shannon has been a designer and assistant designer on Broadway and for numerous national tours.  She designed international projects in Berlin, Hamburg, London and Toronto.

She received her MFA from Northwestern University and her BA at The University of Denver.  She has received six CTG Henry Awards for Outstanding Lighting Design.
